Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Link Storer ("the app", "we", "us") handles your information when you use the application. We believe in keeping things simple and private, and this policy reflects how the app actually works.

The short version: Link Storer is offline-first. Your saved links and categories are stored in a local database on your device. The app does not require an account, and none of your saved links are transmitted to us. Optional features such as fetching link metadata and Google Drive backup use the internet to work, as described below.

Information handled by the application

The app stores the information you choose to save: the links you add, along with any titles, descriptions, categories, and tags you provide. This information is saved in a local database on your device.

The app also stores a small amount of local preference data on your device, such as your theme selection (light, dark, or system default) and settings related to your saved links.

Links and content you save

All links you save are stored locally on your device. You can view, edit, or delete them at any time. Link Storer does not upload, sell, or share your saved links with us or any third party for marketing or advertising purposes.

Local application data

Your links, categories, tags, and preferences are stored locally using a private database in the app's local storage. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted by default.

Google Sign-In

If you choose to use Google Drive backup, the app lets you sign in with your Google account. This sign-in is handled by Google and is used solely to authenticate you so that backup operations can access your own Drive storage. We do not receive or store your Google account password, and we do not see the contents of your Google account beyond what is needed for backups.

Google Drive backup and restore

Google Drive backup is an optional feature. When you enable it, Link Storer stores a copy of your saved links in a private application data folder associated with your Google account. This folder is created and managed by the app and is not visible within your normal Drive file list. It is used specifically so the app can restore your links on the same device or a new device signed in with the same account.

Because we keep backups separate from your main Drive, the app works only within its own private application data area and does not read, modify, or delete files in the rest of your Google Drive.

What data is transmitted

The app generally operates offline. The following activities require an internet connection and interact with third-party services:

How data is used

Your data is used solely to provide and operate the features you use: saving and organizing links, searching, health checking, and backing up your links. We do not use your saved links for advertising, analytics, profiling, or selling to third parties.

Data storage

Under normal use, your links are stored only on your device in a local database. If you enable Google Drive backup, an encrypted-by-Google copy of your backup is stored in your own private application data folder within your Google account.

Third-party services

The app relies on certain third-party services to function, including Google (for sign-in and Google Drive backup) and the websites you save links to (for metadata fetching and health checks). These services have their own privacy policies, and your use of them is subject to their terms. Please review Google's privacy policy and the policies of the sites you save for more information.

Data security

We take reasonable steps to help protect your data. Because data is stored locally on your device and within your own Google account, its security largely depends on your device security (such as a lock screen) and the security of your Google account. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your control

You are in control of your data. You can:

Data deletion

You can delete your data directly from the app. Clearing all data removes every saved link and custom category from the current device, and this action cannot be undone. If you have created a Google Drive backup, that backup is stored in the app's private folder within your own Google account; you can remove access or the backup through your Google account settings.

Children's privacy

Link Storer is a general-purpose link management tool and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app stores only the links you choose to save and does not collect personal information about users, there is no data collection specifically directed at children.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how your data is handled.
